These blushes are housed in a rubberized
compact - exactly like Nars' dual intensity eye shadows, except larger. They
have a magnetic closure, which is oh-so-satisfying. The pigmentation is fairly
good and look a lot better dry than wet. When used wet they seem to be
inconsistent with formulation and tend to get very patchy with any brush you
try to use. They are more pigmented when wet but tend to emphasize pores due to
their metallic nature.
You definitely need to play around with the brushes you
own to see which one works best. Most blush brushes are fairly fluffy but I
find that the product is pretty tightly compacted into the pan so you
definitely need a stiff brush in order to get a good amount of product on it.
The formula is absolutely more blendable and buildable when dry.
However,
moving to the more highlighter side of these compacts - I'm in love!! The
shimmery nature of them comes across the skin beautifully. If you're a fan of
subtle highlights then I would steer clear of these. The shade Jubilation is
tucked away in my highlight drawer because I simply would not use any of the
shades for blush! I actually purchased Jubilation to use both as highlighters
so it works out perfectly.
Overall, I get a ton of use out of all three compacts. The blushes are super pretty when used with the right brush and the highlights are stunning. I would say that they're worth the money! If you find the price a bit steep I would recommend going to the store and trying them out in person. Find the right shade and invest!!
