Estée Lauder Little Black Primer

Estée Lauder claims that you can wear this primer three different ways:

Tint: Colors and lifts bare lashes so they stay silky black throughout the day and even overnight.
Amplify: As a primer, it’s the optimal mascara base for volume, lift and length.
Set: Brush over mascara for a long-wearing, water-resistant topcoat that helps reduce smudging and flaking.

I have only used this product as a primer. I slightly tints your lashes without curling them or clumping up. It seriously enhances any mascara you put on top of it. It curls your lashes and also makes them more voluminous while simultaneously maintaining that curl throughout the entire day! I have found their claims to be very on point.

I really do enjoy the effect this product has on my lashes but I do have a huge problem with it. The website claims it is “suitable for contact lens wearers” which I completely disagree with. I’ve been wearing mascara since I first started wearing makeup around age 14 and have never had the problem of mascara sticking onto my contact lenses.

Whenever I use this product, no matter how painfully careful I am, it smudges on my contact and stays there until I physically take out my contacts and clean them for a couple minutes with contact solution. I find it very annoying because it’s never the side of my contact but always the middle of my contact and blurs it so much that I cannot see at all through that eye.

The first time I used this product I didn’t realize that the smudge wouldn’t go away and went through the whole day practically blind in one eye. I wish I could use this product daily – because I would! But I just can’t help that smudge from happening and I refuse to clean my contacts every time I do my makeup.
