- 40 Mirage Filter ($49) -
This Marc Jacobs contour kit has a HUGE compact with a lot
of product inside - 9 grams per powder. It offers a generous mirror with the
two shades housed as a circle split in half. You pop open the compact with a
little button. MJ offers 3 shades: #40 Mirage Filter (light gold/light bronze),
#20 Dream Filter (soft pink/medium bronze), and #60 Hi Fi Filter (warm
peach/deep bronze). I disagree that the darker shade is considered a bronze. It
is most definitely a contour shade for most light skins. This shade looks so
flawless and natural on my skin tone. It is so easy to blend and really mimics
a shadow.
There tends to be some powder kick up and it is fairly pigmented so I definitely
think you need to use a light hand when you use this. I use the contour powder
way more than the light powder but the lighter powder is definitely still very
soft and useable. It reminds me of the highlight shade in the Smashbox Contour
Kit, which I have a full review for here. Both shades
aren't extremely pigmented but they build up beautifully. I think that helps
extend which skin tones could use this.
Overall, I reach for this a ton. I do think that the high price is worth it - you get a ton of product
and, in general, it looks flawless.

I've heard that this is one of the best contour products. I think that it is amazing when we have the chance to compare some products to find the one that will suits us. Which brush did you use to blend the powder?
ReplyDeleteIt really is one of the best!! I used the real techniques contour brush :)
